Call for research proposals for PhD positions, Faculty of Law.

Job description

PhD researchers participate in the Maastricht University Graduate School of Law PhD Training program, starting September 2010. They will prepare a PhD thesis within one of the core research programmes of the Ius Commune or the Human Rights Research School. Supervision will be provided by individually assigned senior researchers. At least 80 % of the position will be dedicated to research and not more than 20% to teaching activities. PhD researchers join the faculty department in the field linked to the theme of their research proposal.

The Truman Scholarship provides up to $30,000 in funding to students pursuing graduate degrees in public service fields. Students must be college juniors at the time of selection. Project requirements
We seek a candidate with a master degree in philosophy, a strong interest in doing research in a very active international and interdisciplinary research environment. We also expect excellent academic qualifications and writing skills. The selected candidate is expected to have written a PhD thesis (which may be based on articles) by the end of the contract.
