PhD Position Contamination from Wetting and Drying
Job Description
The topic of this PhD investigation is the behavior of particles present in the liquid phase and at the liquid – air interface at the drying front. Also the potential of reciprocal particle removal by a passing liquid-air interface will be studied. The forces induced on small particles and features by these air-liquid interfaces will be analyzed, making use of appropriate tools such as micro-cantilevers or AFM. The topic will be addressed in a generic way, but directed toward the overall potential implementation in cleaning and immersion lithography.

A Postdoctoral position Cell mechanics in microfluidic devices is available immediately in the laboratory of Prof. Siva Vanapalli in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Texas Tech University. We are looking for a motivated candidate with background in one or more areas pertaining to cell biophysics, fluid dynamics, soft matter physics, rheology, bioengineering and microfabrication.
